DBS Executive Dean Appointed Chair Of The Higher Education Colleges Association

The Executive Dean of Dublin Business School, Andrew Conlan-Trant, has assumed office as chair of the Board of the Higher Education Colleges Association (HECA) until May 2021. HECA represents the majority of private higher education institutions in Ireland who have QQI validated undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and Andrew brings excellent knowledge of the private higher education sector in Ireland to his new role. Andrew holds qualifications in Business, Management and Education from NUIG and QUB.

Andrew says “I am very pleased to become Chair of HECA and will work with the other private colleges to promote the quality, capacity and outcomes of private higher education institutions as an integral part of the Irish Higher Education system. With over 22,500 people studying at HECA colleges, our contribution to higher education in Ireland is significant.”

Following the announcement, Patricia O Sullivan, the Executive Director of the HECA stated: “On behalf of colleagues on the Board of the HECA, I am delighted to welcome Andrew Conlan-Trant to this role. He will have the fullest support of the HECA Board and Executive in bringing his wide experience of management and higher education in Ireland.”
