Dr Liam Hennessy FRAMI is an Exercise Physiologist, Strength and Conditioning Coach and former international athlete. Liam took up the position of Director of Fitness with the IRFU in the year 2000 with a remit to create structures and embed methodologies to help Irish Rugby compete in the professional era.
The role encompassed overseeing the Fitness and Strength and Conditioning of the elite squad and also recruiting staff to create and work within academies to develop younger players throughout the country.
During the process of recruiting the required 30 plus staff, it proved difficult to find professionals with both the academic and practical coaching experience required for these key roles. To implement Dr Hennessy’s philosophy and focus on long-term player development, staff needed to understand the key principles in Performance Science and Strength and Conditioning but also have the ability to apply these principles and coach.
For 30 years, we’ve brought the latest thinking, the leading techniques and the most accomplished industry trainers into ambitious organisations, large and small, throughout the UK and beyond.
We empower people with the capability to help their organisations reach the highest standards, maintain compliance and drive efficiency. We are renowned for a dynamic, practical, real world approach. A combination of theory and practice that works.
We have programmes in Lean Six Sigma, compliance, standards and auditing in food safety, quality, environment & energy and life sciences to name but a few. We also run leadership and personal development programmes. We run courses on both a public and in-house basis.
St. Nicholas Montessori
Our vision is to bring excellence in Montessori education to the broader education landscape so that all young people are placed at the heart of their own educational experience and empowered to be independent, confident and creative lifelong learners.
St Nicholas Montessori College Ireland traces its origins to the late 1940’s when Dr Maria Montessori gave permission to two English women, Margaret Homfray and Phoebe Child, to set up a training centre to teach the Montessori Method in London.
This was the first St Nicholas College, and many Irish people completed courses there. In 1970 the St Nicholas Montessori Society of Ireland was founded by Sighle Fitzgerald and a group of like-minded educators. The Irish society ran workshops and evening courses in association with the London training centre for many years in locations throughout Ireland ensuring the further spread of the Montessori Method.
