HECA Supports the Government National Roll-Out of COVID-19 Booster Vaccinations

Members of the Higher Education Colleges Association (HECA) support the roll out of COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters across Ireland.  This statement will continue to apply to the COVID-19 vaccination booster programme or any follow-on vaccination programme that is rolled out across Ireland. 

HECA member HEIs:  

• Support the present roll out of COVID-19 vaccines and boosters across Ireland as noted in the government and HSE websites.
• Will encourage uptake of vaccination and booster across our HEIs.
• Encourage all staff and sub-contractors to get vaccinated/boosters when offered the opportunity.
• Will enable staff to attend vaccination appointments where it is not possible for individuals to schedule an appointment outside working hours.

All our member higher education institutions continue to ensure the safety and wellbeing of higher education students and staff and acknowledge that appropriate COVID-19 risk assessments and controls are still required. We are strong supporters of the public health advice to Layer Up to Protect from COVID-19
