HECA was delighted to attend the recent book launch of Enhancing Teaching and Learning in Irish Academic Libraries: Stories of Professional Artistry. The book is the result of two-year project funded by the National Forum's Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund and is co-authored by the HECA Librarians. The book examines the Professional Development Framework for all staff who teach in Higher Education through the lens of library staff to see how it supports the professional development needs of teaching and learning.
The chapter Connecting Librarians demonstrates the collaborative work of excellence undertaken by HECA’s librarian staff. HECA librarians had previously completed a pilot of the Forum's National Professional Development for all Who Teach in Higher Education. HECA librarians were then invited to collaborate with the National Forum for Teaching & Learning’s L2L project and the book emanating from it.
The Book was launched by Professor Sheila Corrall, Professor of Library & Information Science, University of Pittsburgh in the National Library on April 29th.
