On Tuesday, November 15th, 2022, history was made as the first ever HECA Research Conference was launched, bringing together the brightest minds in the Irish independent/private higher education sector. Hosted in-person by Griffith College in Dublin and available for online viewing, the conference aimed to showcase the research of both staff and students from HECA member institutions, providing a valuable insight into the world of research in this sector.
Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris, attended the conference and praised the diversity of research taking place in the HECA community. He acknowledged the commitment of HECA colleges to research and education and their importance to the third-level education system.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear from academics and students at varying stages of their careers and education, with talks and Q&A sessions providing practical support for getting involved in research.
