Registration is now open for the HECA Research Conference 2026, bringing together researchers, academic and professional staff, students and graduates from across Ireland’s private and independent higher education sector.
The conference provides a dedicated forum to showcase and celebrate the breadth of research, scholarship and creative practice taking place across HECA member institutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with research from across disciplines, exchange ideas and strengthen connections within the private and independent higher education research community.
Conference Themes
Showcasing the breadth of research and scholarship across HECA’s diverse member institutions, the conference programme will feature research across Technology & AI, Education & Pedagogy, Health & Wellbeing, Business & Innovation, Sustainability, Creative Practice & the Humanities, Research Ecologies, and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

There are also opportunities for staff, students and recent graduates from HECA member institutions to contribute to the 2026 conference and showcase their research.
Abstracts of 250–300 words are invited from academic and professional staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and recent graduates. Work in progress and completed research are welcome.

Students and recent graduates of HECA member institutions are invited to submit a digital research poster for the HECA Student Research Awards. Winners and shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their posters at the HECA Research Conference.
